H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has hosted an official reception on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, at the headquarters of the famous Morgan Museum Morgan in New York City.

In a brief address on behalf of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Shamma bint Sohail Faris AlMazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, welcomed the audience and wished them success in their participation in the work of the UN General Assembly, considering their participation in the UN meetings as a commitment by their governments to excel in diplomacy and humanity.

She added, “The UAE takes this opportunity to recall the contributions of the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who built our great nation and established a national system based on providing opportunities for all men and women to access education, work, freedom of worship, innovation and better opportunities for sustainable care.”

AlMazrui expressed her appreciation to the Emirati generation of young people who are passionate about their talents, creativity and energies, which today formed the modern identity of the UAE. She said that her participation in the activities of the UN session this week will push for further progress on youth issues both in the UAE and in the region in general, along with UAE partners at the United Nations.

In this regard, she spoke about her meeting with the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth, and her commitment to working closely in pursuit of achieving the common goal of empowering young people worldwide.

The reception was attended by a number of heads of state and government and foreign ministers from a number of Gulf, Arab and foreign countries and senior international officials working in international organisations, as well as members of the UAE delegation participating in the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.
