Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met on Friday at the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly meetings Daniel F. Feldman, the United States’ Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

They discussed latest political developments in Afghanistan and Pakistan and the security, economic and development challenges there. They also emphasised the need to intensify regional and international support to the plans and efforts made by the government in the two countries to restore security and stability and to boost cooperation in couter-terrorism fields.

Sheikh Abdullah briefed the US official with on the humanitarian and developmental efforts and initiatives made by the UAE as part of its bilateral relations with Afghanistan and Pakistan respectively.

The meeting was attended by Major General Fares Al Mazrouei, Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs and Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN.
