H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, last night participated in a Ministerial Meeting on “Friends of Syria”, which took place on the sidelines of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.

The meeting was also attended by the Foreign Ministers of the United States, Britain, Germany, France and Italy, in addition to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt and Jordan, in the presence of Syrian Opposition Coalition President, Hadi al-Bahra, and a number of representatives of the Syrian opposition.

The meeting covered the developments of the Syrian crisis and ways to provide humanitarian aid to the affected areas. It also touched on the political efforts to resolve the crisis and the efforts to combat terrorism.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Major-General Faris Mohammed Ahmed Suhail Al Mazrouei, Assistant Foreign Minister for Security and Military Affairs.
