H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, has participated in a meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Foreign Ministers.
The meeting was chaired by Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and was held on the sidelines of the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in the presence of GCC Secretary-General, Abdullatif Al-Zayani.
The meeting reviewed the joint stances of GCC Countries, particularly related to the latest developments pertaining to the most prominent political issues in the region, topped by international efforts to fight terrorism, and in particular Daesh (ISIL) in all of Iraq and Syria.
They also discussed developments relating to Yemen, the crisis in Syria and developments in the Palestinian cause, as well as the ongoing political talks on Iran’s nuclear file.
The parties also covered regional issues of mutual concern including dialogues with international and regional blocs.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Jarman, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Yousef Mana’a Saeed Al Otaiba, U.A.E. Ambassador to the United States of America and Ambassador Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, the U.A.E.’s Permanent Representative to the United Nation in New York.
