Mr. President,

My delegation is delighted to join others today in this year’s pledging conference, and to reaffirm its commitment to supporting the United Nations development activities.

Mr. President, the confirmed contributions at this stage from the United Arab Emirates for 2018 are as follows:

1. United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women
   1. 5 million US dollars. This contribution is part of a 15 million US Dollars commitment, which will be disbursed over the next 3 years as previously announced by the government of UAE.
2. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)
   1. 1 million dollars towards its core budget.
3. The Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)
   1. 500 thousand dollars towards the Trust Fund for the Strengthening of the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
   2. And 20 thousand dollars towards the Trust Fund for Disaster Relief Assistance.
4. The United Nations Development Program
   1. 324 thousand dollars towards its core budget.
5. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)
   1. 200 thousand dollars.
6. The United Nations Children’s Fund
   1. 100 thousand dollars towards its core budget.
7. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
   1. 50 thousand dollars.
8. The United Nations Environment Program
   1. 40 thousand dollars
9. The United Nations Fund for South-South Cooperation
   1. 40 thousand dollars.
10. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes
    1. 30 thousand dollars towards The United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Fund.
    2. 10 thousand dollars towards the Fund of the United Nations International Drug Control Programme
11. The United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery
    1. 30 thousand dollars.
12. Perez-Guerrero Trust Fund for South-South Cooperation
    1. 20 thousand dollars.
13. The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)
    1. 10 thousand dollars.
14. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)
    1. 10 thousand dollars.
15. The United Nations Voluntary Fund on Disability
    1. 10 thousand dollars.
16. The United Nations Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture
    1. 10 thousand dollars.
17. The United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund for the Convention to Combat Desertification
    1. 10 thousand dollars.
18. The United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research
    1. 10 thousand dollars.
19. Cooperative Mechanism on Safety of Navigation and Environmental Protection in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore
    1. 100 thousand dollars towards Aid to Navigation Fund (ANF).

Mr. President, these announced contributions are not exhaustive, and we shall communicate further contributions to the Secretariat once they are finalized and approved.
